Perched on the Rock, the Oceanographic Museum is one of the must-see spots in Monaco. Even before you step inside, the building itself is pretty striking, with its façade carved with marine details, albatrosses, and waves frozen in stone, it instantly reminds you of its purpose. It was opened in the early 1900s to showcase the collections from Prince Albert I’s expeditions.

Once you’re inside, the aquarium blows your mind: 90 tanks recreate all kinds of ecosystems, from the Mediterranean to tropical seas. The shark lagoon is the star of the show, with 450,000 liters of water and a whole underwater world swimming around: groupers, sharks, turtles, and schools of colorful fish.
