🚆 Route to Antibes by Train

Morning Walk along the Ramparts
Start your day in Antibes with a peaceful stroll along the old ramparts, a reminder of when the town was a front-line outpost of the French kingdom facing the County of Nice, which was part of Savoy back then. The path offers gorgeous views of the Mediterranean, the harbor, and the rooftops of the old town. It’s a calm and scenic way to soak up the town’s fortified history, with some amazing viewpoints over the Alps in the distance, especially on clear days.

Port Vauban and the Billionaires’ Quay
After the ramparts, head over to Port Vauban. You’ll spot an impressive line-up of luxury yachts, especially along the famous Billionaires’ Quay, basically a floating showroom of global wealth. The contrast between historic seafaring roots and modern luxury really sums up Antibes. The port is also home to plenty of classic sailboats.
Right across from it sits Fort Carré, perched on a hilltop, giving you a strategic view over the entire bay.

Explore Old Town Streets
Next, dive into the heart of Antibes by wandering through the old town’s narrow streets. This little maze of colorful shutters, shady squares, old fountains, and artisan shops feels full of charm. You’ll still see slices of everyday local life here, far from the flash of the marina.
Be sure to stop by the covered Provençal market, packed with life and delicious smells. It’s set in an old hall where local producers sell cheeses, olives, dried fruits, and other southern specialties.

Picasso Museum
Take a culture break at the Picasso Museum, set inside the old Grimaldi Castle overlooking the sea. Picasso spent a few months working here in 1946, and left behind a unique collection of paintings, sketches, and ceramics. The layout is simple and full of light, letting you really feel the creative freedom he explored in this Mediterranean setting. Besides Picasso’s work, the museum also features pieces by modern artists like Nicolas de Staël and Joan Miró. The building itself, both elegant and understated, adds to Antibes’ artistic vibe.

Beach or Cap d’Antibes Hike
Wrap up your afternoon with a choice: either relax on one of Antibes’ beaches or go for a coastal hike around the Cap d’Antibes.
If chilling is more your thing, sandy spots like Salis Beach or Gravette are lovely and popular with local families.
If you’re up for a walk, the “Tire-Poil” coastal trail offers a beautiful loop around the cape. This wild path winds past pine trees and hidden coves, hugging the rocky cliffs and giving you stunning views of the sea and secret villas tucked into the greenery.
