Explore Monaco-City
Perched up on the Rock, Monaco-Ville is the old heart of the principality. It’s a charming little area with narrow cobblestone streets lined with pastel-colored houses. The vibe here is quiet and a bit solemn, far from the buzz of Monte-Carlo. You’ll feel almost like you’re in a different world, peaceful, perfect for wandering around. You’ll come across shady little squares, traditional shops, neat gardens and stunning views over the sea. This is where you really get a feel for the soul of Monaco, with the country’s political and religious landmarks all around.

The Cathedral
Monaco’s cathedral, also called the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, really stands out with its neo-Romanesque style and white stone from La Turbie. Inside, it’s simple but grand. This is where Monaco’s princes are buried, including Rainier III and Princess Grace, their tombs are a moving spot where many visitors pause and reflect. The light coming through the stained-glass windows adds a soft glow that makes you want to just sit and take it all in.

Palace Square
Palace Square gives you one of the best views in Monaco, you’ve got the sea, the city and the port all in one shot. The place is lined with old cannons and guards in full dress uniform. Every day at 11:55 am, there’s the changing of the guard, a short ceremony that tourists love. It’s also a top spot to look down at the luxury yachts and the city below. You can’t skip it, the square really shows off the power and history of Monaco’s royal family.

The Prince's Palace
This is where the prince of Monaco actually lives. The palace looks part medieval fortress, part elegant residence. From April to October, some areas are open to the public. The State Apartments are full of richly decorated rooms with period furniture, 16th-century frescoes and grand salons. The visit also takes you through the history of the Grimaldi family with a well-designed tour.
🍴 Lunch

Casino Square
This is the most famous square in Monte-Carlo, the one that shows off all the glamour and luxury. Surrounded by high-end hotels and designer shops, the square is dominated by the Belle Époque façade of the casino. Day or night, you’ll see fancy sports cars cruising past palm trees and flowerbeds, with tourists and onlookers snapping photos. It’s a popular hangout, where you’ll see a mix of visitors and jet-setters, some there to see and be seen, others hoping to get lucky.

Casino Monte-Carlo
Designed by Charles Garnier, the Monte-Carlo Casino is a masterpiece of 19th-century architecture. Inside, it’s all gold details, chandeliers and marble, pure French-style luxury and elegance. The casino is one of the most iconic places on the French Riviera, where history, entertainment and a bit of over-the-top flair all come together.

Finish with a Seaside Drink
If you want a drink by the sea in Monaco, you’ve got some great spots to choose from. These places mix amazing views of the yachts with a chic but laid-back feel, and yes, the prices match the setting. It’s the perfect way to soak up a bit of that Monégasque dolce vita.
