Montrésor Castle was originally built in the 11th century and then rebuilt to its current form in the 16th century. In the Renaissance style, it is surrounded by lush gardens and parkland.

In the 19th century, it was acquired by a Polish count who restored it extensively. It is thus nicknamed “The small Poland”.
