🚆 Route to Antibes by Train

Morning Walk along the Ramparts

If you feel like soaking up the Mediterranean vibe of Antibes, take a walk along the old ramparts. These thick golden walls were put up back in the 16th century by Vauban’s engineers, and they offer some amazing views, the sea, the rooftops of Antibes, and even the Southern Alps way off in the distance. As you follow the path, you’ll pass bastions like the one near Place d’Armes, and be surrounded by sea air, crashing waves, squawking gulls and that intense blue of the Mediterranean. It’s a mix of military history and laid-back coastal charm.

Port Vauban and the Billionaires’ Quay

Port Vauban is the biggest marina in France, and it’s one of Antibes’ most iconic spots. You’ll see everything from humble little sailboats to massive superyachts docked along the famous Billionaires’ Quay. They call it that because, well, it draws some serious wealth. The boats here are huge, over-the-top, and fly flags from all over the world. But it’s not just about luxury, the port is a hub of local life too, with shipyards, and cafés.

Explore Old Town Streets

The old town of Antibes is wrapped in those same historic ramparts and filled with a maze of narrow streets and pastel buildings. It’s got a really warm and friendly vibe, with little flower-filled squares, archways, and fountains popping up as you explore.

The Provençal market buzzes with life, the alleyways stay cool under the arcades, and the smells of fresh bread and spices hang in the air.

The architecture tells a long story too, you’ll see medieval homes, elegant old townhouses, and windows with turquoise shutters.

🍴 Lunch

Picasso Museum

Set in the old Grimaldi Castle overlooking the sea, the Picasso Museum is one of Antibes’ cultural highlights. Picasso stayed here in 1946 and left behind 23 paintings and 44 drawings, which became the heart of the collection. The museum space is bright and simple, and you can really feel his presence as you walk through. You’ll also find works by other 20th-century artists like Nicolas de Staël and Anna-Eva Bergman. Don’t miss the terrace, the view over the Mediterranean is the perfect finishing touch.

Beach or Cap d’Antibes Hike

In Antibes, you’ve got options, chill on the beach or head out on a scenic hike. If you’re in the mood to relax, check out Gravette Beach, tucked right below the ramparts. It’s sheltered, and the water’s calm and super clear.

If you’d rather move, the coastal path around Cap d’Antibes is a great choice. It’s an easy and beautiful hike through pine trees, rocky coves, and sea-splashed cliffs. The trail is well kept, and the sea views all along the way are absolutely stunning.
